Ingredients
3 tbsp salted caramel
2 tbsp crème fraîche
1 tbsp cream cheese
Extra salted caramel to drizzle
Instructions
Make the Death By Chocolate cake (recipe already on the site. Search "Death By Chocolate").
Whisk the salted caramel, crème fraîche and cream cheese into a smooth paste. Refrigerate for a few hours to harden.
Smoother your cake with the frosting.
Warm a couple of tablespoons of the salted caramel to drizzle on top. Enjoy!
I used the Death By Chocolate recipe for the cake but instead of dividing the mixture into 2 sandwich tins (as the recipe states), I used a square brownie tin lined with parchment paper to have a big square cake. Let the cake cool completely before frosting, otherwise, the frosting will melt.
You can experiment with more or less caramel, crème fraîche or cream cheese, depending on the intensity of flavours you're looking for. It's really up to you. This mixture is very forgiving but be warned, is quite runny.
